Comments: I went for it. Flew over two people and headed towards the buoy. Kept my head down quite a bit and just hoped I was swimmng straight. The fact I could see the bottom of the lake was an added bonus! I just followed the milfoil. I was 3rd out the water, Very pleased with that What would you do differently?: Go even faster. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Had issues with getting my suit off....couldn't figure out why. I hadn't unzipped it all the way. Soon solved it and went on my way. What would you do differently?: Unzip my suit more. :) ![]() Bike
Comments: I was doing quite well, there were a few hills which I did well on. There was one hill I had to stop on because my chain unlinked! Got it started again right away however *phew*. At the last turn there was no one there, didn't know it was the turn and went straight on. I had a feeling that something wasn't right. I must have gone at least 2 miles before a cop stopped me and told me I was going the wrong way! WTF!? It's just that I had come down a giant hill and had to come back up it again.... There were other people going the wrong way too and I yelled at them to turn around. I heard a lot of swear words..hehehe. Can't blame them!!! So in the end I did about 18 miles! I was kinda pissed off because I knew it would effect my time. What would you do differently?: Maybe complain a bit more. I mean they have me in the wrong age group and they have me going the wrong way. I paid $60. Lot of money if you ask me! ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Helmet, gloves off, hat and shoes on! What would you do differently?: I need to work on my transitions, could get my time down a lot if I did! ![]() Run
Comments: Quite pleased!!! I'm certainly getting faster! Also, quitting smoking is the best thing I've ever done. What would you do differently?: Keep on running and improve. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Talked to Rachel and her fiance, ate 1/2 danish, drank loads of water and hung around to hear about the What limited your ability to perform faster: Improper marking of the course. My lack of caring about T1 and T2. I will work on that. Event comments: Will do it again as it's very close to home, and now I know the course and can ride it often if I want to :) They weren't really that apologetic about us all getting lost. The little kid that did the whole tri - he was 13, ended up doing 29 frikken miles!!! Rachel had gone so far she needed a ride back to the park! Last updated: 2008-07-07 12:00 AM

Just setting up. I got there around 6:15. Found my spot, looked around for Rachel and chatted to some of the other triathletes.
