Age Group Rank = 79/130
Pre-race routine:

Ate part of a bagel. Got scared the whole drive to Seward Park when CRAZY-nice tri bikes were passing us...
Event warmup:

Talked to Medusa_Ann and Watergirl777...stood like cattle in a pen!
Swim
  • 17m 9s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 56s / 100 yards
Comments:

Um, I really really need to learn to OWS. I was breaststroking this race so I wouldn't touch milfoil. That's not rational! Hopefully, I can learn to improve, because this phobia is going to keep me from doing longer distances!

People were crazy in this swim. Plus, there were guys from the previous wave that I thought were going to drown that I was avoiding at all costs. They looked so panicked I thought if I came near them they would grab onto me and push me under!
What would you do differently?:

Not swim so terribly!
Transition 1
  • 02m 57s
Comments:

I just kind of take my transitions easily right now...I'm not competing for AG awards, so I am just trying to get my bearings.
What would you do differently?:

Go quicker.
Bike
  • 45m 51s
  • 12 miles
  • 15.70 mile/hr
Comments:

My back tire was dragging the whole time. This race taught me the importance of pumping up your tires. I literally could not get going. I am so pathetic in comparison to all the people in this race. Sigh.
What would you do differently?:

Pump my tires, train more, and lose weight.
Transition 2
  • 02m 20s
Run
  • 31m 2s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

HA HA HA! This is funny. I forgot my Garmin and had NO IDEA where I was and what I was doing. I had told myself that I wanted to try and run (Excepting the hill) the whole time. I have been having a lot of difficulty because none of my bricks have been hard enough. So I ran more than any other tri...and it is like my slowest run! I was molasses....oh well!
What would you do differently?:

Get my booty in gear. Train more!

Event comments:

This is a great race...it's just really competitive. For someone like me, this puts your ego squarely in check and makes you feel really bad! THOSE PEOPLE ARE FAST!
