Swim
  • 14m 21s
  • 1094 yards
  • 01m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

Once again and as per usual, MO is to cover the distance as briskly as possible without torquing my cardio..5th in AG is good enough.
What would you do differently?:

Devote myself to perfecting the art? Nah.
Transition 1
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

I was so much faster than anyone else in AG here and in T2, you might wonder if I was cutting corners or something. Nope, just moving with a purpose.
Bike
  • 49m 45s
  • 18.64 miles
  • 22.48 mile/hr
Comments:

I won AG right here. Passed three guys from AG by the mid point of the second loop and never looked back. This is my third time racing here and it's a good course to have a little familiarity with..Tight turns, etc.

I cafoodled with my bike set-up the day before the race - Slightly higher seat, slight downward adjustment to aerobars..Seemed comfortable enough.
What would you do differently?:

Go even harder through the turns..
Transition 2
  • 01m 10s
Comments:

See T1 comments..
Run
  • 35m 22s
  • 4.97 miles
  • 07m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

The weak point of the day..Legs had no freshness for the first 3 miles and I actually did walk a few steps somewhere in there. Found a little rhythm towards the end.

I passed a few folks from other AG's and then got passed by the first place woman who was posilutely flying..All in all, respectable run on a fast course.
What would you do differently?:

Mental toughness..Such an elusive mistress.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was a good day and reasonably approximated current fitness level. I was three minutes ahead of next person in AG, took a minute off last year's time, and made no significant errors in judgement.

Frankly, to go faster than this will probably call for more attention to swimming which is the weakest link..Can do.

Event comments:

I really like it here..Bike course is a little different in that you don't generally see so many 90' turns. Mostly closed course is so preferable to riding on shared road, and the run course is definitely fast.

I plan to keep coming back.
