  • 437 yards
  • 02m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

I actually came out of the water much faster.. I just thought transition started right when you got out of the water. OOOPS
What would you do differently?:

I would haul a** when I get out of the water! I added multiple minutes to my actual swim time because of that!
Transition 1
  • 06m 25s
Comments:

I had to get my head together after the swim and prepare for the bike. This was my first tri and I was very nervous. Also, I don't have cycling soes and I had a lot of trouble getting my shoes on (running shoes).. all a learning experience
What would you do differently?:

Make sure my shoes are more loosened. I had brought a thing to put water in to get the sand off my feet, but then I didn't fill it up. I think I will bring some of my daughter's baby wipes next time!
Bike
  • 57m 27s
  • 10 miles
  • 10.44 mile/hr
Comments:

I went really slow because I was afraid I would get pooped on the bridge and not be able to finish. I will go faster next ytime!
What would you do differently?:

Push harder!
Transition 2
  • 03m 30s
Comments:

I had to drink more because I didn't drink enough on the bike course.. or maybe too much.. I haven't figured that out yet.. I also was incredibly nauseaus.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more in terms of bike to run transitions.. so I won't be so nauseaus.
Run
  • 57m
  • 3.1 miles
  • 18m 23s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

I really need to work on running more after biking. Also, I need to work on finding a sports bra that doesn't cut off my breathing.
Post race
Event comments:

It was my first tri and I was really slow because I wanted to finish and have only been training for a couple months (after having a baby and not having ridden a bike in 10 years!).

The volunteers on the run course were only in two places (the beginning and the 2 mile)... I followed all the signs I saw and took the direction from the few people.. but did get lost some and there was no one there to help. I crossed the finish line, but when I went by later, it said I didn't finish. My coach called the director and they said I missed a running marker.

Next time I am going to push a lot harder because I know I CAN finish and will do much better I am sure. I am sure I'll do much better next time!

I walked most of it and got lost and somewhere I screwed up and missed a running checkpoint and so although I crossed the finish line they said I didn't finish.
