Swim
Comments: So, let's talk about jelly fish shall we?? It was a big hype getting into the water. That's what everyone was talking about...I figured...what's the chance of me actually seeing one of these creatures...20 feet in there is one right next to my hand a small one. about the size of a softball...but enough to freak me out for the duration. At almost the end of the swim I put my face in the water to find one the size of a frisbie RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE!! I screamed and popped out of the water and tried to move out of the way. luckily I avoided it. But that really sucked. I hear it's not like that ever year though. What would you do differently?: avoid the jellies?? I don't know. It was more mental then anything... Transition 1
Comments: Hmmm...I guess T1 went fine...see below for the major setback...by the way the question suit off helmet on at the same time...who can do that?? just wondering. Bike
Comments: well...where to start...basically Darrel put my crank back together wrong and I didn't notice it until I started on the course. Instead of the crank arms being 180 degrees of each other they were 90. Then I couldn't find a mechanic (my alan wrench wasn't big enough). I almost threw in the towel. I finally found someone and they fixed it. It was about a 15-20 min ordeal. So I then had to really push on the ride. I think I did great for still not having a granny gear. I powered through all of the hills. I refused to give up. I think I did awesome although my time does not reflect that. What would you do differently?: test ride my bike before the race Transition 2
Comments: went very smoothly although very defeating to see a lot of people already back. Run
Comments: I did good, and tried to stay positive. I did pass some people on the run which was nice, although not too many people for me to pass. What would you do differently?: still need to EMBRACE RUNNING!! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: bike problems Event comments: I really enjoyed this race! Very family friendly. I will be doing this again next year!! Last updated: 2008-07-23 12:00 AM
