Swim
Comments: OK swim. Got tangled up in the lane lines here and there. Seemed to be a lot of people stopped at the walls. Couldn't decide whether to breathe to the right or left and switched off several times. That seemed to throw off my timing. Overall it wasn't bad. Transition 1
Comments: Time is estimated, since the storm knocked out the chip timing equipment. T1 felt a little slow. Bike
Comments: Good bike. Talked myself into pushing a bigger gear thru most of the ride to gain additional speed on the flatter, slightly downhill areas. Still felt like I handled the ascents pretty well. Passed a lot of other bikers, only got passed one time after the big hill by a P3C. Have been focusing a lot on improving my bike lately ... seems to have paid off. Stayed in the aero position about 99% of the time. What would you do differently?: Maybe push a little harder on some of the flatter and slightly downhill areas. Transition 2
Comments: This felt kind of slow. Had trouble getting socks on and getting shoes tied ... I definately need lace locks. What would you do differently?: Just need to better organize how I handle T2. Felt like I lost time here. Run
Comments: Battled a stitch on the first lap, but just pushed thru it. Felt fast on the second lap and did quite a bit of passing. Got passed with about 1/2 mile to go and stayed with the individual that passed me almost to the line. That helped me go a little faster on the final lap. Post race
Warm down: Got some water, walked around, talked to other local BT members. What limited your ability to perform faster: Definately prefer sunny conditions over rainy conditions. Probably just a mental thing, but don't like racing in the rain. Event comments: Not a lot of volunteers on the bike course, but it was a fairly straight forward 4-turn course once you got out of the park. Could be a little confusing in the park and it would have helped to have volunteers directing you in and out of the park. Last updated: 2008-07-26 12:00 AM

Got up about 4AM to the sound of a thunderstorm. Great ... I hate racing in rain. Oh well. Had my bagel and peanut butter, took the dog for a quick walk and was on the road to the race site at 5:30AM
Ran about a mile after the hellacious thunderstorm blew thru. Felt good.
