Swim
Comments: Obviously, some data needs to be gathered but I was solidly MOP, which is fine for a total novice swimmer. Got to use some decent technique when not being thrashed. What would you do differently?: Lost my ROAD ID early on and fumbled around with it on first 200 until deciding to stick it in my crotch, which actually worked. SO I would fasten that tighter. Also, need to figure how to work in those scrums better. Swallowing and getting hit took me out of rhythm. I guess I should've let the pack go but I wasn't sure what that would do to my time. Transition 1
Comments: Problem here was I forgot to MARK my path and went into the wrong row, which I did again in T2. Went without socks and that helped make up for the gaffe a bit. What would you do differently?: Need to mark my row like Jeff told me to do in previous ones. Bike
Comments: I think I really did well here. Don't have the data yet but I will be surprised if there are any Clydes faster than me. Don't recall getting passed by more than 2 riders. And I may have caught them back. THis is turning into a strong point for me. What would you do differently?: Get an approved helmet, try a more gooey gel than that one today which was so dry, pedal harder, and Transition 2
Comments: Messed up the row again. 2 friggin times. THink I would've been more careful! What would you do differently?: Need to mark my row. Stay without socks. Run
Comments: I think I held up a bit when my yanks shoe untied at mile 2. Didn't want to trip over. ALso had too much left in tank for the finish because I didn't understand the layout of the course. What would you do differently?: Learn the layout of the course and then burn it up. Figure how to keep those YANKS tied down better. Post race
Warm down: chilled out and got some food and drink, then rolled out quickly. What limited your ability to perform faster: Missing the row in both transitions, holding back too much in the run, swimming poorly in a scrum (even though I did my best), not having a proper helmet which messed with my mojo early on, letting my ROAD ID cost me time. Event comments: I liked this course overall and it seemed pretty well organized. The local folks were nice and Cordele was generally better than I expected for a Interstate-based town. I didn't see a photographer and doubt there was one there. I would've liked that. I heard the awards took too long again. On the whole, a very positive experience which was only tainted by my inexperience. Ill put data in when I get it. Last updated: 2008-07-27 12:00 AM

Got there the night before, picked up packet, and scoped it out for once. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express so I knew my mojo was there. Got there early to set up after a red bull and a coffee.
Took two dumps in the crowded loos. Got my new expensive "European" helmet DQ'd but thankfully they had an extra. Jogged with a neat dude Shane for 1.5 miles. Swam a few 25 repeats.
