Swim
Comments: I was able to swim in a draft for most of the first lap but when I tried to bridge up to a faster group I endd up in no man's land swimming by myself. What would you do differently?: Swim more!! I need to work on everything associated with the swim. Transition 1
Comments: Still a little sloppy in T1, but not terrible. Had a little trouble getting the aero helmet on, it was my first time using it in a race What would you do differently?: Practice T1 more! Bike
Comments: I worked hard on the bike! I felt great most of the ride, just a few spots where I felt a little sick to my stomach (probably from overworking). I can't complain about the ride, I enjoyed it and am happy with my split. The new P2C handled very well, accelerated quickly and was very comfortable. What would you do differently?: More race pace intervals in training, I ride a lot but not enough at or above race intensity. Transition 2
Comments: I had a solid T2, although I did have to pickup my bike and run with it on my shoulder because the run to transition was over grass and I couldn't control it too well. What would you do differently?: Just tweak things so I can go even faster, more practice! Run
Comments: Pretty touch course, hills both out and back. I felt great coming off the bike and settled in pretty quickly. I started the run in about 12th place and was able to move up to 7th by the end of the day. Someone went by me at the turnaround and I made the decision to get on his shoulder and run with him. We caught about 4 people and got ourselves into the Top 10 within the last half of the loop. What would you do differently?: More bricks and hill work. I haven't done much speed work this year, so some fartlek running and intervals would be helpful. Post race
Warm down: Walked the run course backwards to cheer on other athletes. Hydrated and had something to eat. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of race specific training (i.e. speedwork) Event comments: It was the first year for this distance, they typically only do a sprint. I'd go back next year, it's a beautiful course and the people were super friendly. I had a blast, and it was a good day in the business suit. Last updated: 2008-07-28 12:00 AM

Drove to PA on race morning, trip took about 2 hours and I got a little lost! Ate breakfast in the car.
Took the bike out for about 15 mins to check the shifting and get my legs and lungs going. I'd been having troubl with the back wheel rubbing the seat tube cut out so I had to make sure she was ok.
