Swim
Comments: Best tri swim I've ever had. Got in and started going good. Wish this would have been a wave start, way to many people. Felt like I swam over/got swam over by, people the whole time. Made it to the turn buoy and was surprised I was there already. Made the cornor and headed for sure. Got my head pushed down by another swimmer and had to pull my head out of the water for a few seconds to regain my breath. Finished strong, swam until I felt my hand hit sand. What would you do differently?: Nothing, best swim I've ever had. Transition 1
Comments: Had a not so great T1. My wetsuit came off pretty good, until the suit got stuck on my timing chip. I had to pull the leg of the suit back up and take my chip off, remove the suit, and put the chip back on. Then I put my tri top on backwards, doh! Finally grabbed my bike and got out of T1. What would you do differently?: Not try and put my top on backwards. Bike
Comments: Had a good bike. Results have the course shorter than 19 miles but several people I've talked to that have mapped the course and had computers on their bikes said it was between 19.5 and 20 miles. Rode strong. Pretty uneventful except I dropped my sunglasses right as I jumped on the bike then dropped my bottle of gatorade a mile into the ride. Loop around the lake was nice. Trail was a little crowded. Followed a line of riders into a wrong turn and probable lost a minute or so. Coming back in I saw my cheering section, the were cheering, screaming and having fun. Saw Brian, looking bruised and battered, starting his run. Hit T2 at a good pace. What would you do differently?: Nothing, good solid ride. Transition 2
Comments: Not much to say, got in, got my shoes/helmet off, into my running shoes and headed out. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Had a good solid run. Not blazing but pleased with the pace. They had more than 1 aid station this year which was great. Caught Brian a mile or so in. Ran with him for a minute or two. Saw his mangled up elbow, ouch. Took water and gatorade at all the aid stations. Finished up strong. Hell of a lot better run than Steelhead. Very happy with how I felt on this run. What would you do differently?: Not much, maybe a kick a littls sooner at the end. Post race
Warm down: Got some gatorade and a couple orange slices. Waited for the rest of the guys to finish up. Talked to Andy, Brian, Justin, Jeff, and Shawn for awhile. Cheered in the late finishers. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not a lot. I think I was well prepared and well rested for this race. Event comments: Enjoyed my day. A volunteer stationed where we made the wrong turn at the bike would have been nice. Also a wave start on the swim. All-in-all a good race, had a blast. Last updated: 2008-08-06 12:00 AM

Got up early, 3:55A.M. Got dressed, ate breakfast. Got Kim and Karley up and ready to go. Drove up to the race site, got there about 6:15. Got checked in and body marked. Met up with Jeff and got my bike racked and transition set up. Talked to Brian and Andy a little bit. Went to the bathroom then got my wetsuit on.
Just a little stretching, thats about it.
