Bike
Comments: Tried to go out slow and easier but wasn't most successful at maintain a steady speed. What would you do differently?: I was one of the slower bikers in my age group and overall, just need to continue working on bike speed over longer distances. Transition 2
Run
Comments: 4 miles in burning on ball of left foot, nice blister :(. Last mile was really tough mentally, wanted to just walk but wouldn't let myself. What would you do differently?: Socks were still wet and think contributed to blister. Overall, likely went out too fast even though tried not too. Post race
Warm down: Stretched and walked. Dunk in lake. What limited your ability to perform faster: First oly. Tougher than I thought it would be. Hard to believe how fast most of the other competitors are. Required much more mental toughness on the run than I had any idea it would. I for some reason was unable to slow my pace to try to drop HR from 170. Maxed out at 175 at finish. Got up at 5:45, ate 2 pieces of toast (cinnamon sugar and PB/honey), 1 banana, sipped on H20. Drove from in-laws and got there about 6:30.
