Pre-race routine:

Spent the night before to avoid long drive in the morning. Ate a Powerbar, drank a bottle of water and headed to the race site.
Event warmup:

Set up transition, stretch, head down to swim start about 30 min. to race time to get in a light warmup.

Swimming in OW is slowly but surely improving. I have got to work on navigation, everytime I looked up I had drifted off to the left a little. Probably lost about 30-60 seconds re-correcting myself.

I'm guessing since the swim times were right on and the T1 times were all above a minute that the mat was farther back than I thought, because I was lightning fast in the Transition Area.

I am happy with this time, it is my best 5k this year! I have to keep working on it though because this is nowhere near the pace I want to be running at.

Warm down:

Basically walked around like a zombie and got eaten by a million gnats for 2 hours before awards started. Seriously, I have never seen so many gnats....

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Experience, still on rookie season. My main goal coming into this race was just hoping to be under 1 hr and 5 min. I did, therefore I'm satisfied!

Event comments:

Typical Ga Multisports blunders from what I have seen, but I think everybody had a pretty good time! =)

Course: Pretty flat course, with a few sharp turns thrown in there. The course must have been short because I'm pretty sure I averaged in the 22 mph range, and the results say that too.
