Swim
Comments: Pretty slow going early on due to traffic but I eventually was able to pick my way through the traffic and get into a rhythm. What would you do differently?: nothing - overall a decent swim. Transition 1
Comments: no issues. Bike
Comments: If I had known how rough this course was going to be I would have rented a mountain bike! It was really tough getting into a rhythm with the non stop jarring and bouncing. What would you do differently?: nothing. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Overall a really crappy run! Even though it was only a 6 mile run, going back out for the 2nd loop knowing I was completely gassed was not fun. I tried to bribe a Sherrif who was standing by his boat to drive me to the other side of the lake but no luck! My focus the past 6 weeks has been biking so I shouldn't be too surprised that I'm struggling with the run lately. Plus the wife and I didn't decide to do this race until Saturday afternoon so there was no taper and I did a couple hard runs during the week so I was just out of gas. What would you do differently?: I simply need to run more. Post race
Warm down: grabbed some water and waited for Julie to finish. She had a nice race and came in 2nd in her age group and beat me by little less then a minute. So now she owns the bragging rights for at least another week. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of run training, no taper, 2nd race in two weeks, blah, blah, blah...I have all kinds of excuses! Check back next week and I'll be recycling these same excuses after the Baxter tri :) Event comments: I've read lots of comments about this RD so my expectations were adjusted accordingly. Overall I thought it was a decent race. Post race food/drink were really weak and I thought the run could have used 1 more aid station. I'd probably do the race again just because it's local and I love being home by 11AM on race day. Last updated: 2008-08-17 12:00 AM

quick bagel and cup of coffee and then off to St. Paul.
Just a quick run, bike and swim (about 5 minutes each).
