Swim
Comments: I had planned to swim between 35 and 40 minutes so I was happy with my time. I had to stay possitive as the next wave started passing me at about the 400m marker, I just kept telling myself to race my own race and not worry about those passing me. I had to do this again when the 3rd wave went past me as well. What would you do differently?: practice more to get faster Transition 1
Comments: It was a long run to T1, through some loose sand and over a parking lot then through some more loose sand. hard to run through What would you do differently?: need to practice getting the suit of beter. got stuck on my ankles. Bike
What would you do differently?: nothing, I enjoyed this distance as it let me get into a rythem. Transition 2
Comments: my sunglasses fell of and away from me while I was putting on my shoes. Lost a few seconds tring to grab them and put them back on. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: It took my till Km 4 to get my running legs under me and feeling great. From there it was a nice run. Great view of the lake What would you do differently?: bricks / bricks / bricks and more bricks Post race
Warm down: walked around, found wife and kids. light stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: just too slow in the water Event comments: Loved the course Last updated: 2008-08-21 12:00 AM

I drove out to the race course on Friday night as I only live 40 minutes from Wasaga Beach. I picked up my race kit and looked over the course with my 2 boys. We figured out most of the lay out of the course.
Saturday morning woke up at 7:00 am had breakfast...bowl of ceaeal, cup of java and a lage mug to go. In the car at 8:00 there ay 8:45.
Set up my transition area and went to get marked and pick up my timing chip. The timing chips were delayed till another race was over. NP though, got my chip at 9:30 ish and went and put on wet suit
did a small swim just before the race started, maybe 100 meters, but enough to get use to the water temp (was real nice).
