Total Time = 1h 07m 55s
Overall Rank = 37/400
Age Group = M30-34
Age Group Rank = 6/35
Pre-race routine:

Half a banana and some canalope. Also drank my normal protein shake.
Event warmup:

Really didn't do much here. Just did my normal shoulder stretching before the swim.
Swim
  • 04m 37s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 32s / 100 yards
Comments:

My swim felt great. Some guys weren't staying on their side so they ran into me twice. I lost my breath one time and just thinking about it was able to recover my normal breathing.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I had a great swim and time.
Transition 1
  • 00m 52s
Comments:

My T1 was outstanding. I've improved so much from last year. My only issue was jumping on the bike trying to pedal when the shoes were facing down. That took me a little bit to get started.
What would you do differently?:

There has to be a trick I don't know about besides using rubber bands.
Bike
  • 40m 52s
  • 14 miles
  • 20.55 mile/hr
Comments:

Well lets see my goal was 40min and I did that so I'm real happy with my performance. What I would like to work on is getting into rhythm sooner. It takes me about 4 miles to get my legs going. Also I can feel I'm faster, but I just don't push myself unless there is someone there. I really need to work on pushing myself when I'm alone.
What would you do differently?:

That's hard to say. I really don't know how hard I can push while saving my legs some for the run. I reached my goal so I most likely wouldn't change anything.
Transition 2
  • 00m 43s
Comments:

This would of been real fast if I didn't have to put on socks. Right now I have to use socks with my running shoes. One day i'll get some nice Tri type shoes.
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Run
  • 20m 49s
  • 2.9 miles
  • 07m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

Well around 1.5 miles I got my running legs back and picked up the pace. Running right now is my worst even though I PR my time. This is another one I don't push myself. I know I can run harder it just doesn't happen unless competition passes me. I really have got to learn to race.
What would you do differently?:

Push myself harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat in a chair. LOL

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing I beat my last year time by 6min. Amazing.

Event comments:

Overall great race. I trained very well for this race.
