Pre-race routine:

Woke iup around 5:15 ate Cheerios a banana and had a cup of coffee. Left the house about 6:00
Event warmup:

Not much of a warmup, some stretches. Mostly tried to stay warm.
Swim
  • 12m 27s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was a much better swim than my first tri. I did the breaststroke only to navigate. I did do the back stroke just for a second, not even sure why i did it. I felt great the whole swim.
What would you do differently?:

Just get in the pool more, also try to swim past the slower swimmers ahead of me rather than keeping pace. I got a little frustrated today with slower swimmers.
Transition 1
  • 04m 55s
Comments:

I lost most of my time here running from the swim to the T1 area.
What would you do differently?:

I need to work on getting on the bike with the shoes on the pedals.
Bike
  • 38m 11s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 19.53 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt good on the bike, the course was a bit congested do to traffic. It was damn cold out there, I couldn't feel my quads for a good bit.
What would you do differently?:

I need to work on a better cadence, I was either too high or too low, I rarely was comfortable with my cadence.
Transition 2
  • 01m 23s
Comments:

Need to get better at getting socks on and running, or learn to run without socks. GET ZIP STRING LACES!

Had my shoes undone but forgot to put my feet on top of the shoes, almost fell over. I saved it just in time.
What would you do differently?:

Get laces.
Run
  • 31m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt pretty good off the bike and running. My HR was relatively low, unfortunately i got a side cramp at about mile 1.75 and couldn't run through it. I just couldn't take deep enough breaths, walked for about 2 minutes, then ran the rest.
What would you do differently?:

Just keep on running.
Post race
Warm down:

stretched a few, ate a bit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just my lack of time training, been training now for about 10 weeks total.

Event comments:

All in all a good race, other than the cold.
