  • Comments: Overall: For my first tri in over 3 years I should be pretty happy. Can't say I am though (fastest Sprint Tri to date was 1:17:01 but hard to compare apples to apples as they were different venues). With marginally better swim and transitions I could have been 5th in my AG (1:13:07 versus my time of 1:14:51). The key takeaway is that a lot of went wrong is fixable. I need to spend more time next season training in open water. Transitions can be practiced. I can get faster on the bike and honestly should be able to take a minute or so off yesterdays run time. Glad to be back in the game but lots of work to do once I get healthy. **One more thing - this was my first Tri using the Garmin 910xt and its multisport function. Very cool. Once you start you hit "lap" when you hit the timing mats between legs / transitions. Gives you a record of every part of the race. It worked great. I have the quick release wristband and was able to put wetsuit arm over watch to ensure that it wasn't

  • Comments: 1st Triathlon: Hard time keeping swimming rhythm too close to pack. Bike went well; fast course even with strong headwind for 1/2 course. Never got cadence going in run.

  • Comments: Overall a well-run race, so I apologize for listing negatives. Easier than listing the several things that went without a hitch. The swim out blowup collapsing was inexcusable. Volunteers didn't know everything and did not know who I should speak to to get questions answered. Lastly, 3D did not want ppl in transition to get their gear until the last racer was in from the bike (rightly so). No one was manning the entrance I went in only to see a racer come through. I felt bad, but had no idea. All in all, this was a good race, and I hit my goal of becoming age-group competitive in sprints this year.

  • Comments: I got all my splits this race!!! Thats a improvement :) I still think this is a good race, and a good venue for the championship. The only sticking point is the first 3-3.5 miles on that bike course!!! If they can figure that out, I hope they keep this venue. Also, I have to say I was very happy for my Dad!!! I mainly did this race again this year to do it with him. This was his first race ever last year, and he wanted to come back and see how much he improved. I would say that over 20 minutes off your time from last year is a NICE BIG IMPROVEMENT!!! :)

  • Comments: Give the organizers credit for fixing the bike course safety concerns from last year. The staggered starts and coned off lane really helped.

  • Comments: I gave the race a 3 becasue of the bike problems. I really don't like getting stopped or virtually stopped on the bike. Hopefully next year the traffic issues can be addressed. Post race food and volunteers were great. Despite all my complaining in this report I am fairly happy with my results of 1st in clyde and 2nd in AG (a bit of a fluke)and overall of 28th was cool. I just know I can do better in all three events (and T-1,2). Last tri of the year - bummer.

  • Comments: Great race except for the traffic situation. They need to change the location of the bike, or shut down that road for a couple of hours on race day.

  • Comments: At first I rated the race a 4 due to how cold it was, but how can I hold the organizer responsible for the weather? For my first tri it was great. I would have loved to finish a bit closer to 1 hr and 15 minutes but that gives me something to shoot for in the future.
