Pre-race routine:

First event so nothing I did was a routine. I found a place to rack my bike that was easy to locate got my gear organized and drank water and had a small snack.

not bad for my first swim. It took me little while to figure out how to pass people, so I could have had a better time I think.

Comments:

I had to take a short break between the run and bike to cool down a bit, but other than that no issues.
What would you do differently?:

I forgot to clear my bike computer before the race and in trying to clear it I ended up resetting the whole thing and changing it to kilometers which totally messed me up for keeping track of my pace. I would freeze both water bottle as my water was very warm for the ride.

I thought I was better prepared for the bike, but I was way hot after the run. I tried to get cooled down, but I think I ended up drinking to much water and then felt like puking a couple of times, but I felt better by the last lap.
What would you do differently?:

Have more water available at my transition to poor on my head to get cooled down.

I was wearing my jammers with bike shorts over them and had started running for the pool and realized I still had them on so I had to run back and take off the bike shorts.
What would you do differently?:

Remember to take off my bike shorts or buy some trishorts so I don't have to worry about it.

I needed a run belt with water. But overall happy with my pace.
What would you do differently?:

I wouldn't wear a hat again,, but instead just a visor. I would run with a belt with more water.

Warm down:

Well since the swim was last that was pretty much my cool-down. I walked around a little bit, did some stretching and hydrated as much as I could along with eating some of the snacks that were provided.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat and not enough hill training on my bike.

Event comments:

Since this is my first I am giving this an above average rating. I don't know if there are normally more water stations, but they could have used more people handing out the water. They ran out of water in the transition area before the race. I had fun overall. It would be nice to be listed in the overall times even if you are signed up as a clydesdale so you can see how you rate out.

Course: three loops on a hilly course, at least for me it was hilly as I used my highest gear on my bike. Lanes were too narrow in some places and I almost hit a stay left sign. You had to go out of the lane to pass people most of the time.

Course: The start of the run was crowded on the path but opened up after the turn around. It seemed like a gradual ascent after the turn around too. Hot, not enough water stations, it was hot outside, lanes were good, and it was hot outside with not enough water. But maybe I need to be in better condition too.
