Comments: MY FIRST OLYMPIC DISTANCE...I FELT GREAT THE WHOLE TIME, BUT I SWAM AT A TURTLES PACE.....VERY CONSERVATIVE.... What would you do differently?: NOT MUCH.....I FELT IF I PUSHED THE SWIM TO HARD I MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN INTO TROUBLE...THIS WINTER I WILL WORK ON IT....LOOK THROUGH MY NUMBERS IF I COULD TAKE 10 MIN. THIS WEEKEND THE BIG HURRICANE WAS SUPPOSED TO HIT THE NORTHEAST AND I ANTICIPATED THE RACE BEING WASHED OUT....I LIVE APPROXIMATELY 120 MILES FROM THE VENUE SO I PLANNED ON SLEEPING AT A HOTEL THE NIGHT BEFORE, BUT DECIDED AGAINST IT B/C OF THE POSSIBLE WASH OUT... I WOKE UP AT 0430 HRS. MORNING OF AND IT WAS NOT RAINING..I MADE A FEW PHONE CALLS AND FOUND OUT THE STORM WAS NOT GOING TO HIT UNTIL EARLY AFTERNOON...I DECIDED TO MAKE THE TRIP/RACE...I ATE A PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH, A BANANNA AND A PROTEIN SHAKE...GOT IN THE CAR AND DROVE GOT AT THE VENUE AT 0800 HRS...SET AREA UP...POWER BAR, 18 OZ. SUPER PUMP 250 AND TONS OF WITHIN 45 MIN. OF RACE.
NO WARM UP....I NEVER USUALLY WARM UP.. THE FEW SECONDS BEFORE THE SWIM A JUMP AROUND IN THE WATER..
