Run
Comments: LOTS of people the first 5K, and it was windy going out. Did my normal 5 min run/1 min walk intervals the whole way. I was able to run just a little bit faster pace during the second half because the pack had cleared out. What would you do differently?: My time was exactly 5 seconds slower than last year's race. At least I'm consistently slow. Learn how to run faster. Post race
Warm down: 1.5 mile walk back to the office. Nice, hot shower in my gym. Starbucks for gingerbread latte. Drove to Crystal City Sports Bar to meet up with BTers. What limited your ability to perform faster: The fact that I am not a runner. Event comments: Fun race. It was nice to meet local BTers and put faces with their online nicknames. I almost slept through this. Got home late the night before after a christening, and I was really not looking forward to running in the cold. Woke up at 6am without the alarm, fought with myself for a while about whether or not I'd go, then decided I shouldn't waste my money and packed up. Grabbed coffee, cereal bar, and yogurt on the way into the city.
Walked the 1.5 miles to the race site from my office parking garage. Got to packet pickup at about 7:50 am, so no time to look for fellow BTers.
