Swim
Comments: This was a mass start with about 75 or so swimmers all starting from the shore in very close proximity. I stayed to the far left of the pack in hopes of avoiding the inevitable pounding that takes place with these types of swim starts. I got a fairly good start, and had little trouble with the swim. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Took my time getting my suit off and my bike equipment ready fro the bike Bike
Comments: Instead of mounting my bike and going up the short, but steep hill out from the transition area, I chose to run up the hill then mount my bike. Once on the course I felt good. The course was not too strenuous, but I felt like I didn't push myself as hard as I could have. Transition 2
Comments: Again took my time going from bike to run Run
Comments: The run course was on a paved roadway and was moderately hilly. I was able to run at a comfortable pace for me. I felt a little pain again in my lower back during the run, especially up one of the steeper hills, but it subsided after about 10 mins. Although I felt this course was moderately hilly, it was not a difficult run course. Post race
Warm down: Walked, stretched, ate a peanut butter sandwich and oranges Event comments: I always enjoy the course at San Dimas and plan on coming back next year. The overall event, organizers, volunteers , park personnel, cops, etc., did an awesome job. Last updated: 2008-09-22 12:00 AM

Up at 0500 hours for the drive to San Dimas. Had some toast and a can of Ensure Wild Berry for breakfast. Also took a cup of coffee for the drive over. Got to the park and got a good parking spot above the transition area. The check in took a little longer than usual since my name was also in the relay line. Got all my equipment set up in the transition area and had about an 45 mins to get warmed up before the race started.
