Run
Comments: The course was pretty good, except for the rain that started as we hit Lake of the Isles. I was feeling pretty good for most of the first 10 miles. Just a steady pace, but had to dodge puddles. I hit the 5K at 30:18, 10k at 1:00:47, half 2:13:47. This is where some of my injuries started to pop up. I then just started my plan of run when I can, and walk the rest. I hit 30k at 3:26:40, and 20 miles at 3:45:54. I was in pure walk mode at mile 17, and my calves would lock up every time I would start to run after that. I talked to alot of people along the way, and had a good time. I am just in some pain, and walking like I am 90 instead of 38. Oh yeah, I was dressed in a black garbage back from about the 5k mark until mile 25. This was good as my hands were going numb, and I could bring my arms inside to warm up. What would you do differently?: Stay away from the injury bug. Work interfered with my workouts during the summer. Stash a bike somewhere along the course? Roller skates? Post race
Warm down: I just walked, and ate, and drank whatever I could going down the coral. I got home, and took a bath. What limited your ability to perform faster: Injuries to my IT band, and left hammy. Event comments: If I do this again, it will be a couple years. I am going back down to halves for a while. Last updated: 2008-10-06 12:00 AM

Got up, and had a decent breakfast. I couldn't sleep so I was out of bed earlier than expected. My sister picked me up about 6:15, and we went to the dome. I hate pre-race jitter, my stomach was not acting right.
Stretched a little, and then joined the masses in Coral 2. I lost my sister at the bag drop.
