Run
Comments: I tore something in my calf on my last long run, two weeks before the race. I debated DNS, but decided to show up[ and see if I was healed. Whatever it was srtarted acting up after about 1.5 miles, and then really let loose at about mile 7. I slowed down and started a run/walk at about mile 11 or 12. What would you do differently?: All in all, I should have either skipped this race or done a run/walk very slow pace from the beginning. Going to the doctor today...hopefully I have not screwed things up too badly. Post race
Warm down: Hobbled around to meet up with the family and get back to the car/hotel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Calf Injury Event comments: Great martthon. BIG...lots of people. Hard to do too much with 20,000 runners. Last updated: 2008-10-10 12:00 AM

Overnighted in the Alden Hotel. It's a small "boutique" type hotel that has a European feel to it. Small rooms, but everything's very nice. It's an easy six or seven block walk to the start line. Got up about 5:30, showered and had some water.
Nothing except the walk from the hotel. Stood at the start line for about 20-minutes cooling off with everyone else.
