Swim
Comments: Difficult first 400 meters. Very choppy and a lot of drag. Difficult to breath without swallowing water. Sighting was nearly impossible and I felt rather alone since I rarely saw another swimmer. The last buoy was pale yellow and was impossible to see as we were heading into the rising sun. Just aimed for the crowd on the beach. What would you do differently?: Nothing, overall I was very pleased with my swim given the conditions. More OWS practice can never hurt. Transition 1
Comments: I was very dizzy after the swim. This has been true for every tri I've done, and I dont know how to combat it. Suit was stuck on timing chip. What would you do differently?: More swim to bike transitions to work on not being dizzy. Need to learn to jump on bike with shoes already clipped in Bike
Comments: I was hurting quite a bit over the first 2 miles being primarily uphill. After I got my HR down a little bit I started feeling better. second lap was fine. What would you do differently?: Much more time on my bike. I lost a lot of endurance over the past few weeks as I havent been riding or training at all regularly. Transition 2
Comments: Not much to do for a sprint, just speed. What would you do differently?: Practice removing feet from shoes on bike. Havent done this yet in race. Run
Comments: I should have pushed a little more on the run. Was having some stomach cramps from drinking the LI sound an hour earlier. Post race
Warm down: Walked around parking lot. Used the portapotty several times. What limited your ability to perform faster: Out in NYC until 1 AM drinking. Event comments: Great race for my final of the season. Little upset about the bike mixup, but otherwise I'm happy with my performance. Definitely will do again next year. Woke up at 4:50, drove the 45 minutes there with a 7-11 blueberry coffee. Black. 1 cliff bar
Walked around. Putting on my wetsuit. HR increased just looking at the water.
