  • Comments: Cedar Beach Triathlon is one of my favorite local, sprint, end-of-season Triathlons. And for all those reasons - it's just the right size, great location and there is just no better way to close out your Tri season. The event is extremely well run from top to bottom. I can't recommend this event enough.

  • Comments: HUGE kudos to Competitor Events Group. Despite tough weather conditions, they executed a flawless race and figured out a swim solution when many Race Directors would have simply just canceled the swim. This event was dropped last year as the last race org sadly closed up shop. So after a year sabbatical, Cedar Beach Tri rose from the ashes. Competitor Events Group, again, did a really great job. From the long sleeve shirt (with lettering on the sleeve, which reminds me of my Hobie shirts growing up), plentiful volunteers, clean course, phenomenal post-food spread, great medals -- I've done a lot of races and for a small Org, they really did a fantastic job. This race is very special to me because it's where me, Mike and Charlie started our first triathlon training back in Spring of 2008. I hope Cedar Beach Triathlon sticks around for another 6 years and then some. Maybe Competitor Events will even be able to resurrect Ironclad. EVENT POWER LI COULD TAKE SOME NOTES FROM

  • Comments: What was cool about this event was that you could see who was registered prior to the race so I saw that there were thirty-one Clydesdales. I was also able to look at the last two years results and since I set 5 goals for myself regarding the race I used those to benchmark. My first goal was to finish in the top 10, I already proved to myself two weeks prior that I could do a triathalon – so what if this one was longer I was confident I would finish and I wanted to go top 10. Secondly I set times for each part based on the last two years. If I wanted top 10 I would need to finish in an hour and 40 minutes or less so that was goal number 2. The swim had to be done in under 20 minutes (goal number three), the bike in 45 (goal 4) and the run – I had no idea what I would have left but I set a modest 35 minutes (goal 5). Last minute I added another goal – the guy that came in third at TrIslip was racing here – he beat e there by 42 seconds – I would meet him or find out who he was and

  • Comments: I have to say i was inspired to race fast after seeing Crowie break the Hawaii ironman course record and watching Wellington win her 4th world championship. Would say it was just an average race but the course was too good to give it that score and was policed well enough. Oh yea i had to round up since my exact time was 1:23:07.996

  • Comments: Another great day and another complete race. I am so happy with how I did today, only a week after an HIM PR. I raced this as hard as I could mentally and physically and it is so satisfying. A very special shout out to Bobby who finished 3rd in our age group. That makes two podium finishes for him this year! So cool. I'm very proud of him. I'm also so proud of myself. After the race, I ran into a former HS lacrosse teammate of mine... He didn't recognize me! Not for the reason we usually don't recognize each other after twenty years, but because he said, (his words) I look so incredibly fit. That felt good!

  • Comments: Cedar Beach Triathlon is a great local race. The swim can be easy or very difficult. I've done both here. The Bike is challenging as you are either going up or down, but there is only one steep climb and it's not that long. The run is technical but mostly flat. The race has a great local laid back vibe, and despite the small field there is some great competition here. I couldn't imagine a better way to end the Triathlon Season then with the Cedar Beach Triathlon.

  • Comments: Mental toughness race for me. Ending the season on a good note and surviving the swim in those condions makes offseason training for my first Olympic distance much better.

  • Comments: Great race for my final of the season. Little upset about the bike mixup, but otherwise I'm happy with my performance. Definitely will do again next year.

  • Comments: Excellent race as I've come to expect from JP and Tri and Du It Multisport. This event is a great end to the season, I'll certainly come back next year.

  • Comments: The Cedar Beach triathlon is a fun, local, well run event. The swim was challenging, as was the bike, the scenery was georgeous - and really, I am so happy to have a great local tri race to look forward to every year.

  • Comments: I gave this race a 4 because even though it was first year, JP puts on a good event and he will work out the kinks. His schwag bags and post race food/raffles always outdo his local competition. We got blessed with with the weather, since early October can be horrendous in NY, instead it was bordering on being too warm.

  • Comments: The only reason why I gave it a 3 is because I think they have some kinks to work out after their first year. I already mentioned the swim. The bike ride was a bit confusing with having to stay left at some places which in retrospect makes some sense and they only gave away water at the aid stations (no Gatorade). That being said, it was a great race and very well organized for a first time event. The goody bag is awesome... complete with a hoodie and great drawstring bag. Some of the other organizers could learn a thing or two about give-aways from this guy.
