Precipitation
Total Time = 1h 32m 11s
Overall Rank = 405/1111
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 28/60
Pre-race routine:

Usual breakfast of oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar. Drank a protein shake as well.
Event warmup:

Put on the wetsuit and swam for a bit.
Swim
  • 11m 6s
  • 581 yards
  • 01m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim went a lot better than XTERRA Stoaked, I really love my wetsuit. Stood up and dove repeatedly to shore since there was people walking. Was easier to get past them.
What would you do differently?:

Start further up.
Transition 1
  • 04m 27s
Comments:

Wetsuit strippers are awesome. Still very dizzy after the swim though.
What would you do differently?:

Get different bike shoes. The MTB shoes with the laces and velcro is just too much to deal with. Aside from that I need to pick up the pace when transitioning.
Bike
  • 49m 39s
  • 15 miles
  • 18.13 mile/hr
Comments:

Road cycling time trial mode is a whole lot different than mountain biking. Unlike off-road which is interval training, on the road is non-stop hammering. I really want to improve this next year. Wet conditions slowed me down I really did not want to crash on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

More saddle time on the road bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 49s
Comments:

Traffic Jam at the Bike Dismount area. When swinging my right leg over I paused due to the traffic and my hamstrings on that leg cramped up.
What would you do differently?:

Get different bike shoes (laces are ridiculous).
Run
  • 25m 11s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Right hamstring really cramped up and did not loosen til after the first mile.
What would you do differently?:

I would not take off like a mad man leaving transition.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate a bunch of fruit and drank water and gatorade at the aid station by the finish. Did some stretching then ate a whole bunch more at the feed tent.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weather conditions, road bike experience.

Event comments:

Endorfun is a great race organization. Would definitely do this race again sometime. Overall I felt I did well for my first road triathlon. There's always next year to make improvements!
