Swim
Comments: No swim. I did the bike/run option. I started physical therapay on my shoulder last week and didn't want to ruin the progres... Transition 1
Bike
Comments: About a dozen of us did the bike/run option. We started about 20 min after the first swim wave, before any of the swimmers finished. It was a lonely ride since we were well spread apart. I lost sight of the fastest guy a few minutes into the race. On occasion through the 26.5 miles I'd get passed by a fast biker who was on a relay or had finished the swim. Other those few fast guys speeding up in front of me, I saw almost no riders in the during the 1 hr 25 min ride. I think I got a bit lazy and didn't push the pace since I never had anybody around me..... Much of the course was rough road, but little traffic and turns indicated well. Transition 2
Comments: Took my time. I don't have the YankZs on my current running shoes so I lost more time lacing up. Run
Comments: I ran without a watch so I wasn't sure of my pace. I didn't feel like I was pushing the pace too hard, but was pleased with the result. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: No taper. Lower bike fitness. I was happy with the run results. Event comments: Overall very good. Much of the roads on the bike were quite rough, and the transition racks a couple of inches too low for my tastes, but overall a nice race. Last updated: 2008-10-15 12:00 AM

This was really just a trainig race for me. I haven't been able to swim in a few months and I haven't been biking much. My run conditioning is good since I'm training for a half marathon in November. No taper for this race.
