Swim
Comments: This swim was bad from the start....overall good course, not realy well marked...current was a bit rough What would you do differently?: NEVER WEAR A WETSUIT AGAIN....i bought it last year, when I had a smaller chest, now that I am back in the swing and training, my chest size has increased, I could not get a full breath for the entire swim..... Transition 1
Comments: OK,.......note to everyone, do not stand in the way of a "elite" athlete-Jerk-Butt-Crack when leaving the transistion area....got ran over and shoved to the side by an "elite" athlete. I was walking out of the transistion area, collecting myself and getting ready to go. I guess I was in the way......I guess my 205lb, clyde frame was too big to go around What would you do differently?: Shove back, be rude and less courteous to everyone around me......Generaly give it back like it was given to me. Bike
Comments: I rode my own race, even after the shove and bump for the "elite" that went by me at the tranistion What would you do differently?: Train a bit harder on the hills. I did not PUSH through this race. I wanted to finish in one peice and enjoy myself. Transition 2
Comments: This was another shove fest. I guess my 205lb frame and massive 14 speed bike were "IN THE WAY" again. Again, I walk into the transition area, not run, wanted to collect my thoughts. Guess this is not the way of the "ELITE" athletes. What would you do differently?: Beat the living crap out of people who have no respect for the rest of humanity. Run
Comments: I had nothing left after the first 3 miles. I hung on for the remainder. Drank the right amount, stayed hydrated and moving. Had to walk a bit. What would you do differently?: Just a bit more training on my part. I did enjoy the run. Lots of supportive people on the run. Post race
Warm down: Collapse.....crawled to the beer....had one....crawled over to my gear and packed up. What limited your ability to perform faster: "Elite" athlete with no respect for others..... Event comments: Overall this was a good time. I enjoyed myself in spite of the trouble makers. I would recommend this to anyone. It was my first Olympic event.....I am pleased. I pretty much did my normal activities. Had a hard time resting and eating correctly before this race. The USAF had other plans for me the week before the race. I did what I could, but I was not rested or healthy when race day came.
Light stretching, jogging and arm circles
