Run
Comments: From the start, I was too hot. Not like I was wearing too much, but like I was coming down with a fever hot. As a result, I was sweating by mile two and dumping water on my head pretty much all day long. By mile 16 my quads had nearly seized and every time I took a drink, side stitches ensued. Nothing I was doing was working. Lots of run/walking through the end of the course. What would you do differently?: Not too sure what I could have done. I thought I was well prepared. I had eaten well the week prior to the race and had a good hydration/fueling plan, but I guess whatever I was (am) coming down with wasn't thrilled with me running a Marathon this day. Post race
Warm down: Walk around the finishing chute, walk/stand in line to get my bag o' clothes, walk to the subway, walk to my brothers apartment. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sickness? Internal heat? Cramping quads? Event comments: Phenomenal volunteers and LOTS of spectators made this happen for me! Last updated: 2008-11-04 12:00 AM
