Pre-race routine:

Drove to course alone, arrived in plenty of time. Many others had already racked their bikes. Stayed at Casey and Andy's in David the night before. Had enough time to use restrooms and organize stuff. Almost forgot safety pin and had to run to organizer's tent to nab one.

No problems. Transition allowed riding! I always get slightly dizzy coming out of the water.

Stayed with a small group that grew into a larger one. Triathletes are sketchy in a draft-legal race. Eventually broke from the group.

Ran mostly on dirt shoulder. Most runners stayed on pavement. Paced with another runner of equal ability. Pushed hard toward the end. Finished faster than I had expected.

Swimming in a straight line. Bike pacing. Run strength.

Great late season race. Would definitely do again.
