Pre-race routine:

Woke up, Filled the Nalgene with water and headed to the race site. I had a peanut butter power bar
Event warmup:

stretched, set up transition.
Swim
  • 14m 16s
  • 528 yards
  • 02m 42s / 100 yards
Comments:

The swim was COLD! started in the back but ended up in the front middle of the pack.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to the front
Transition 1
  • 03m 42s
Comments:

Did not have a suit on so did not have that problem. Fumbled with putting on a DRY underarmor shirt with me being wet was a pain. Shoes went on pretty good. First time so I did not know wheather to run or jog or walk so I kind if did all three
What would you do differently?:

Not wear a shirt on the bike.
Bike
  • 44m 40s
  • 12.5 miles
  • 16.79 mile/hr
Comments:

Had some pot holes on the course.
What would you do differently?:

Get my gps on my bike instead of leaving it in the car and only take one water bottle instead of two.
Transition 2
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

Put my bike in the wrong way and had to fix it. slammed a GU and off to the run course
What would you do differently?:

make it better. I like the way I did it. Got in parked the bike and hit the run course. I did not have to chage shoes due to me not having clipped shoes.
Run
  • 29m 29s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 09m 13s  min/mile
Comments:

Turning alot in the begining. There was no race markings on distance so that kind of threw me off. There could have been, I just did not see them. It was hot and the combo of dumping water on me and then taking little shots of gatorade worked well. This was a PR for me!
What would you do differently?:

study the race course more for distance. didnt know the local where I should have turned it on.
Post race
Warm down:

stretch and papa johns pizza!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The not knowing of my speed and distance. It was a mental thing.

Event comments:

This was an AWESOME race to be my first one! The people that put this race on know what they are doing. The volunteers were great with everything. I can not wait to do it again next year!!
