Swim
Comments: The time includes a 200 yard, uphill run from the lake to the transition area. I think my swim was actually not too bad! I thought I wouldn't use a wetsuit stripper, but I'm glad I did. That was really slick! What would you do differently?: I had a hard time with nervousness at the start. Transition 1
Comments: This would have been very fast if I had remembered to use my inhaler at the beginning of the race. What would you do differently?: Use my inhaler before I start. I wasted a lot of time medicating in T1. Bike
Comments: This includes a run, with bike, of approximately 150 yards from dismount to transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I think I had an awesome bike ride. WAHOO! Transition 2
Comments: My daughter did the run leg, so all I had to do was come in and rack my bike before she could take off. Except the time down the shoot, there really wasn't any transition. Run
Comments: DD wore a bright yellow shirt with a "No Passing Zone" sign on the back. She was disappointed that one guy took no heed to the warning. He was the only one who passed her, though. Post race
Warm down: Made several trips in and out of transition while waiting for Emily to come in from the run. Cheered people on. Paced nervously. Loafed on the grass while waiting for awards. Event comments: Last year I believe I turned around too soon on the bike, but this year I didn't. The course was better manned so that a mistake couldn't happen. There is still a bit of confusion regarding team participation. When we picked our packets up, we were told that I should wear one number, and Emily should wear the other. This resulted in a computer mix-up, and our team appeared to have a DNF on the run. I spoke to the computer guy, and he straightened it out, but only after the awards were announced. I think we would not have had this problem if we had worn the same number. If they don't get the results, including splits posted on their website this year, I will be unlikely to do this race again. Last year they never did post the splits. They seem to do well putting the race on, but really, really, (did I say really) lousy at follow up. Last updated: 2009-01-05 12:00 AM

Ate an English muffin, half a banana, and a chocolate gem donut (couldn't help it). Sipped on water until race time. Took an Excedrin, but forgot to use my inhaler.
Jumped around on the grass, ran from transition to the water to get my heart rate up. Didn't swim much, as the start area was a mud puddle!
