Pre-race routine:

woke at 4 and went down to get dressed and have my drink. Kristin, Brad and I were in the car by 4:45 to make the long trek to Sandy Hook.
Event warmup:

No real warm up, got transition set up and went to join the port o potty line with Kristin (thanks for holding a spot for me) and went down to watch the peeps start the swim.
Swim
  • 13m 55s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 35s / 100 yards
Comments:

only had one bad navigational faux pas. after it was corrected the rest of the swim went fine. Beat last years swim time by :55. So yea!!
What would you do differently?:

navigate better
Transition 1
  • 03m 38s
Comments:

there was a long run from the run and there was a bit of a log jam getting out of transition, but the rest went well.
Bike
  • 30m 21s
  • 11 miles
  • 21.75 mile/hr
Comments:

I was a bit slower on the bike this year, but oh well.
What would you do differently?:

Ride faster
Transition 2
  • 01m 1s
Comments:

a bit faster than last year, had a pretty good spot in transition
Run
  • 24m 18s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

Beat my run time by over a minute from last year, but finished overall :10 slower. Gotta work on my biking for next year. course was a bit wacky as people weren't sure (???) if they completed their 2nd lap. That will never be my problem. Seriously, how could you not know if you passed the loop section or not? Dummies.
Post race
Warm down:

Waited for K to come in (she started 6 waves after me). She got 2nd place in her ag. Yea!!! Ate a dry bagel and banana.

Event comments:

I think this is the last time I will be doing this race. As much as I love spending time with Karen, Kristin and Brad, it is a bit far and I missed Luke's football game today. Too late in the season for me.
