Run
Comments: Started just as the last few rain drops were coming down. Dad and I decided to run together and decided a 3/2 was our best option. Based off the crowds in the beginning, we ran 8 minutes before walking to avoid the already crowded groups. Kept at the 3/2 till the big hill were we split our time to make sure we didn't have too much walking... Dad's idea! Then kept it up finishing up with only a minute of walking as we got closer and then ran it in. The humidity was horrible and the sweat just poured off me the whole time. I kind of wish it would have rained! What would you do differently?: Not much... did it just right Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got a cool towel, a bottle of water, dropped off chip, and then got a popsicle. Stood in line for the food and then watched the kids run before heading home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not much... I'm were I wanna be right now with my training. Event comments: I love this race and that is why I have done it for the four years that it has been put on and have yet to miss a year. It is for a good cause and is just a feel good celebration. I look forward to it next year as it celebrates its fifth year! Last updated: 2009-01-19 12:00 AM

Got up at 6:45 am thinking the race was at 8, not 9. Turns out it was raining and I was wrong about the time so I took a short nap and then got ready to go. No need to bring much of anything, I live 3 miles from the race. Dad and I left and headed out.
Got our time chips, stood around and watched the presentation of the flags and the National Anthem, then walked around a bit before lining up. Didn't really feel the need to warm up.
