  • Comments: I love this race and that is why I have done it for the four years that it has been put on and have yet to miss a year. It is for a good cause and is just a feel good celebration. I look forward to it next year as it celebrates its fifth year!

  • Comments: As much as I enjoy this race because of the actual meaning behind it... I feel it is sliding downhill a bit. The race started 8 minutes early. Not only was my chip time and Garmin time 16 seconds off, there was no food or drinks for spectators, and the time clock was in a bad spot which was not easily visible. I understand that this is a small charity race, but I guess because of who is the race director I expect more. Dad did really good coming in solidly under the 40:00 mark... good for him!!!

  • Comments: Again this was an awesome race for a great cause. We had 8 parachuters bring in the American flag and I guess the medals were specially designed. It was nice to honor Ryan today. On a funny note...they used red towels at the end to hand to people to cool off and people were putting them around their necks. Well they hadn't soaked them before and you could tell who had put one around their neck because not only was their necks red but also their tee shirts...made everyone literally look like a bunch of rednecks :) hahaha But it was a great race!

  • Comments: Race was to honor fallen Marine, PFC Ryan Jerabek. The turnout was awesome (>1,000). Marine race contingent, presentations, family speeches, MC - John Maino, skydivers, excellent volunteers and food/drink, Eagle III helicopter, and absolutley perfect weather made this a truly memorable event.

  • Comments: This was a very special race. It was put on in honor of one of our town's fallen heroes, PFC Ryan Jerabek. This was the first annual Jerabek Challenge and I am sure this was stay annual. He ran the roads and hills to help him train for basic training. His parents Rita and Ken Jerabek personally organized this race and it was one of the best organized runs I have been to in a long time. They had a local radio person MC and some very important vets gave speeches. Ryan's dad was unable to run the route and had a close friend wear his son's dog tags so Ryan could run the route. The National Anthem brought tears to my eyes to think about what Ryan did for us. Then they had four skydivers land in the park, one carrying the American Flag. To start the run, a group of soldiers ran in formation ahead of the group. The race route was challenging but there were people along the side of the road cheering and you couldn't help but think with the sun shinning so bright and the happiness in the
