Pre-race routine:

I woke up at 4:30 went to eat my oat mill in the lobby. I went back to the room stretched a small bit then road my bike .2 miles to the transition area from my hotel.
Event warmup:

Road my bike. Walked around and stretching
Swim
  • 25m 8s
  • 528 yards
  • 04m 44s / 100 yards
Comments:

I was so nervous. Almost all the waves had people getting pulled out of the water and I did not want to be one of them. So I wanted to start in the back of the pack but somehow ended up in the middle and ended up kicked in the face then back handed in the face. The first part I had a good strong stroke then the kick totally psyched my out!! Hahaha the middle was treading water in a forward direction. I ended strongly! Thanks to the wonderful swim angel who encouraged me to pass a few people.
What would you do differently?:

Start in the back. Don't worry about staying in the middle with everyone. Take my time. Spend more prep time in the water. Develop my technique better.

Transition 1
  • 00m
Bike
  • 1h 25m
  • 12.5 miles
  • 8.82 mile/hr
Comments:

I loved every minute on my bike. There was so much to take in!! I was so happy just to be doing my triathlon. I had to push every single pedal but it was so worth it!! The last mile my knee started hurtin pretty bad (the one I hyper extended) but I figuredd real triathletes could push through it all the way to the finish!!
What would you do differently?:

Look at a road bike, not hyper extend my knee the week before My Triathlon
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

I was in alot of pain at this point.
What would you do differently?:

Jog during my transition.
Run
  • 52m 41s
  • 3 miles
  • 17m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

I was in so much pain!!! But I loved every moment!!! I had to walk most of it. But I finished.
What would you do differently?:

Not get hurt. I will train more.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, and hydrated and ate some fruit. Stretching and foam roll once back at hotel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just need more training time.
