Swim
Comments: I thought I gave the swim about 85%, but my time was fast (for me). I usually bi-lateral breathe, but now I remember a lot of breathing from right side only. I do that when I need more air, so I must have been going at a pretty good clip. What would you do differently?: Sight more for the swimmers in front of me. I didn't realize I was coming upon a swimmer until I saw bubbles in front of me from their kick. Transition 1
Comments: There was a bottleneck going from the pool as there were stairs going down to the transition area. I also walked behind two people for about 15 seconds with my bike until I realized I was walking, then I ran around them. What would you do differently?: I should have just ran down the grass. Bike
Comments: I pushed the bike as hard as I absolutley could. I went through almost 24 oz. of Infinit and still cramped on the run. I'll have to adjust my formula. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. I went as hard as I could go. Transition 2
Comments: I was on the end of the rack and the horizontal pole (where you hang your bike seat) came out of the bracket. I yelled for an official because I didn't want everyone else's bike to fall over and the official said to lean my bike against the support and they'll fix it, which they did. What would you do differently?: I thoght I had a pretty good T2. Maybe practice dismounts a bit more. Run
Comments: I cramped in both calves 100 yards into the run which slowed my first mile. I had some Powerade at the turnaround and that aliveated the cramps until the finish line. What would you do differently?: Drink more on the bike in prep for the run. Post race
Warm down: Blitzed the finish-line chute, walked around huffin and puffing, pouring water on me. Walked off the run, ate a Cliff bar. What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramping on the initial part of the run. Event comments: I did it last year and placed 3rd Beginner in AG. Had a good race this year and will do it again next year. Last updated: 2009-01-25 12:00 AM
