Bike
Comments: This was my first TT so I wasn't really sure what to expect. It had been raining that morning but stopped by the time it was my turn to go. I set my Garmin so that all I could see was my cadence and I just tried to keep it around 90 and go hard. It was definitely more uphill going out than back. I didn't do very well at the turn around, but it was a very sharp tight turn so whatever. I think my pacing was good and I pretty much gave it all I had. I think I was cautious on the way out of trying not to go too hard but I let it all out on the way back in. Ultimately I am very happy with the results. I was hoping to come in under 30:00 and I did way better than that. I love my new bike!!! And I'm very happy with how my training is going. What would you do differently?: Nada Post race
Warm down: I rode for another 5 minutes down the trail a bit. What limited your ability to perform faster: I guess more training = faster time. Event comments: The only downside of this race is that everyone had a specific start time and they were calling people early. They didn't have a bullhorn so if you didn't hear them then you missed your time. That seems pretty unfair to me. The only reason that did not happen to me is that by the time it was my turn, I knew people had missed their start times so I went over there early. Last updated: 2009-01-27 12:00 AM

The cool thing about this race was that my start time wasn't until 11:19, so I had some time in the morning and wasn't rushed at all. The start was also about 30 minutes from the house, so that was nice, too.
I got there about 1.5 hours early and warmed up on the trainer for about 20 minutes before heading out.
