  • Comments: The only downside of this race is that everyone had a specific start time and they were calling people early. They didn't have a bullhorn so if you didn't hear them then you missed your time. That seems pretty unfair to me. The only reason that did not happen to me is that by the time it was my turn, I knew people had missed their start times so I went over there early.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race - very organized and a great introduction to cycling events. Volunteers were extremely helpful and explained how to approach the ramp start nicely. I will definately do this race again.

  • Comments: I would do this race again. It is unique. However, Surge Sports could do a few things differently. #1 - use timing chips. Are you kidding me, no finish time? #2 - food and gatorade at the finish. Nothing - no day old bagels, no bannanas, no water, no nothing. Next time, I will know to bring my own food. #3 - close the course - they had some walkers and bikers on the course. Why not just have a few cops out there and officially close the course. #4 - more course marshalls. I doesn't bother me to hear about folks drafting but it does bother some.

  • Comments: Jim and the folks at Surge Sports do a good job with this race and the warm temps brought out lots of racers this year. One thing I noticed this year, drafting - 2 packs of 3 racers while I was on the course. Unfortunately the drafters were going the opposite direction, so getting race #'s was impossible. I mentioned something to the Surge folks; hopefully they'll post a few marshalls on the course next year.

  • Comments: This is a great race and a lot of fun. It's neat to see all the juniors out there. This year I actually beat some of them.

  • Comments: Despite my poor performance and the cold, this was a great race. This was my first time trial but not my last. I really like the TT race format. Congrats to other BT/NAMCer's. Brett, Rebecca, Felix, and Lou. Great atmosphere!

  • Comments: This was my first bike race and the time trial format was neat. It was a little depressing getting passed by two people in the first mile but I really went all out and now have a benchmark for next year.

  • Comments: Surge Sports did a good job with this race. Despite the chilly, chilly conditions, they had plenty of volunteers on hand to keep things safe and moving smoothly. PICS (below, from top left): #1. David, Brett, and Rebecca - cold!!, #2. Felix and Brett helping Rebecca get set up with new (used) *fast* Zipps! #3. The start ramp, from behind, looking out. #4 Top 3 Overall loot - hand-blown glass trophies. Really sweet!. #5. Some Surge Sports folks and volunteers who helped make this event happen. Without volunteers, Race Directors would be lost!
