Pre-race routine:

Up at 4, pb and honey on ww english muffin, banana, and coffee. Picked up Lisa at 4:50, at transition at 5:15. Set up, snapped pics, helped someone change their tire.
Event warmup:

Nice long swim (for a warm-up). Probably about 10-15 minutes in the water...very good.
Swim
  • 12m 25s
  • 800 yards
  • 01m 33s / 100 yards
Comments:

Awesome swim (although I think it was a little short). The sun was right in my eyes for the up to the first turn, which made sighting difficult. I was able to draft a lot more than usual. I started right in front, which helped with catching the feet.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

Not amazing, but not terrible.
What would you do differently?:

Must get wetsuit off faster.
Bike
  • 54m 15s
  • 18.64 miles
  • 20.62 mile/hr
Comments:

Awesome bike. I did not hold back and passed a lot of women. I only got passed by two people, one was a really fast woman in the 40-45 AG, which started after me, and the other was a woman in my AG that I had played leap frog with the whole bike leg. This is my fastest leg split by avg. mps ever.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!!
Transition 2
  • 00m 57s
Comments:

Very smooth. Good transition.
Run
  • 26m 19s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

Ughhh...this run wsa hard. I really wanted to finish it under 25 min., but either because of the hard bike or Musselman HIM last week, or both I just didn't have it in me. Pushed as hard as I could.
What would you do differently?:

Race rested.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out with the girls from the YMCA, took pics, cheered everyone on.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The race last weekend.

Event comments:

This was such a fun race. Very different vibe to race with just women, and I loved it. Everyone was so encouraging. I will definitely do this race again next year.

I am also totally excited that I came in 24th OA!! 8 in my AG, but out of 88 and a tough ag to boot. Very fun.
