Pre-race routine:

Arrived at transition right at 5:30am when it opened. Ate a powerbar on the way along with some Powerade. Got my stuff settled into transition and then pumped up tires.
Event warmup:

Took an easy jog less than a mile down to the swim start and back.

What would you do differently?:

Need to get tri shoes instead of road shoes. Would really help if I had a hook on the back to hold on to.

Flat course, very fast. PR for average mph. Only got passed by one person on whole bike course so I was happy about that.
What would you do differently?:

Easier gear, higher cadence. Need to get a computer so I can watch speed and cadence so I can push harder and pace myself.

Push myself harder. I had too much left at the end. I need to come out stronger.

Drank water and ice pops and banana. Talked with fellow teammates after race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Didn't push myself hard enough on the fun.

Event comments:

This was the best race I've done yet. Very organized, a ton of helpful volunteers. Very fun!
