Run
Comments: Ran a PR!! My goal for this marathon was 4:10 and I ran much better than I would have expected. I kept my pace calm and steady and tried doing whatever felt right for my body. Hence, I had a wonderful marathon, never hit the wall and never walked! What would you do differently?: Pray more for the rain to go away? It started to rain harder by the second half of the race and I was cold, even as I ran (and very wet)! Also, I would have drank more water. Because of the weather, I didnt feel as thristy. I didnt drink enough liqyuids during the race, the headache that came after was blinding...and even woke me up from sleep that night. Post race
Warm down: shivering at "meeting spot" waiting for my husband and parents What limited your ability to perform faster: faster? I could have gone faster? no way! (I still think my time is surreal =) ) Event comments: This race is very organized. It has a 'small town feel' which I liked a lot. On the days leading up to the race, the race director would write emails to the articipants with updates and tips and made the whole experience very personal and enjoyable. The only problem was an accident on the way of the shuttle route that took participants from a parking lot to the start of the race. Thus, the race was delayed almost half an hour (more time for the port-a-potties!) Last updated: 2009-01-30 12:00 AM
