Pre-race routine:

1 lb of pasta the night before. A banana and a couple cups of coffee in the morning.

Just stretched and used the foam roller.

Comments:

I ran pretty slow. This was my first half marathon...hell, my first race period, and I didn't know what to expect. Also was coming off of an injured knee so didn't want to reinjure. I was running with someone else and we just took a casual pace and stopped to walk at the aid stations as well as a few other times. I actually didn't feel like I needed the breaks. Overall, though, I was very pleased. I was expecting to only be able to average 10:30 per mile.
What would you do differently?:

If I had taken the run as a serious race I would not have stopped at the aid stations - would have grabbed, drank and kept running - and would have increased my pace a bit. I think I could have easily averaged 9 min/miles had I done this.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Coming off of an injured knee.

Event comments:

Since this was my first ever race I don't have anything to compare to, but I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I thought it was extremely well organized and I had a great time.

Course: Very flat. The only thing I didn't like were the 2 walk-way bridges that we crossed. They bounced when running across and being that they were at the end of the course with legs that were fairly tired, it was real annoying and didn't feel good at all.
