Comments:

WOW what a drastic change of events. from the start after the first climb out of t1 come flying down the first hill, hit a bump at the end of the hill wear the pavment changes and my rear waterbottle holder with 2 full polar waterbottles flys off my bike not even a mile in on the bike, i am mad i swear really loud a few times and then hear my break rubbing on my rear wheel but i am already in the middle of the 2nd climb so it makes it twice as hard, i have to get out of saddle just to get threw it, stop at top of hill and dismount get fix the break, get back on then finally get to start my ride.... and up til mile 38 i was feeling GREAT i was flying by people and was on pace for a sub 2:40 bike split. i had 18miles to go and i was at 1hr 40min when i got my first flat =( i wanted to cry i couldnt believe on this day, the biggst day, my first 70.3 that was going almost perfect except for a few mishaps early on and i get a flat, and i have no tube b/c i dont know how to change one. Michael comes by a few minuntes later and throws me his tube... now all i need is c02 which he also threw but i couldnt find and someone to change it. then a really cool guy stoped and said" ah fuck it my back hurts anyway" haha changes the tire and gets me going... AWESOME RIGHT... very nice that this guy did this, at this point i only lost about 15min... but we didnt get the tiny piece of glass out of the tire so i flat AGAIN in 2mi if that maybe a mile. now i have to tube and i am at an aid station so they call the truck that has the bike guy in it. 30min later he comes and gives me a tube and changes it. so now i lost 45min and feel just defeated. i see my buddy nick after all this when i get back on and we catch up for a min, he tells me about his crash and i tell him my long story, then i leave him and try to knock this bike out the way. my computer time was 2hr 42min entering t2
What would you do differently?:

Comments:

i cant describe the pain in my feet after the 2mi mark. i bled threw my shoes hard core and had HUGE blisters on the bottom of my feet. every step of that run HURT EVERY STEP. i had no desire to push at that point, i cought up with the really cool guy who changed my first flat and ran from mi 2 til the last mile with him and just talked and walked every aid station and hill, didnt care at all about time at that point i just wanted to finish. i was not taking a DNF no today. running with a cool ass dude like that was pretty sweet, took my mind off the horrible pain in my feet. at mi 8 aid station a volunter gave me her socks or a random pair i dont know and dont care, SO AMAZING tho felt so much better but the damage was done and it still hurt, but not nearly as bad not.
What would you do differently?:

wear SOCKS!!!!!!!!!
