Pre-race routine:

sugar free Red Bull, 1/4 ww bagel with peanut butter, banana
Event warmup:

I did the swim warmup. I acidentally got body glide on my goggles (dont ask) and couldnt see at all during the warmup- yes, I am a dumb ass!
Swim
  • 18m 46s
  • 1000 meters
  • 01m 53s / 100 meters
Comments:

WOW- I wanted to take 5 minutes off my time from last year and I did it! I am VERY happy with my swim today!
What would you do differently?:

not a thing
Transition 1
  • 01m 34s
Comments:

I had the fastest T1 in my a/g but it wasn't a very good transition time for me.

I couldn't get my freaking wetsuit off.

I also forgot to put baby powder in my bike shoes and un-velcro them. It was very difficult to get my shoes on while riding. I will blame this for my poor bike split (not my lack of fitness).
What would you do differently?:

put damn baby powder in my bike shoes and un-velcro them.
Bike
  • 37m 59s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 19.63 mile/hr
Comments:

Not happy with my bike performance today! I've been riding quite a bit lately and expected to do better but I felt like crap on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

ride faster:)
Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

I was 3rd in my a/g for T2. I was tired and just didn't give a shit at that point- great attitude huh?
What would you do differently?:

Try to give a shit:)
Run
  • 25m 3s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 03s  min/mile
Comments:

My shin really hurt the first mile or so, after that everything hurt and my biggest obstacle was my breathing- not being able to run much in the last month has taken it tole. It might be time to go to the doctor.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing- I'm injured so training is not an option!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Had stomach issues starting last night which continued on race morning. Being lazy and not getting my ass out of bed in the am to train.

Event comments:

This is a really good race, really good post race party (food sucks but I hate BBQ), lots of beer. I really wanted to at least come in top 3 A/G, if not win my A/G, and take 5 minutes off my swim time. I didnt win, but considering my shin splints, I am happy. I guess my only disapointment is in my bike split- I should have hammered it. Oh well, next year!
