  • Comments: 5th year racing here and have always enjoyed it. Hopefully the Navy will get some funds to repave the roads soon. :)

  • Comments: Weather was great this year... not too hot as some prior years have been. I think there was a change in event management but no material changes noticed. Which they would report age group rank in each category (see Set-up Events) but it was a fun and well run race.

  • Comments: This was the first year under new race management. Would of like to see wave information and time transition opens either on their site or in the packet. Sounds a little silly but the finish line was a bit weak. just a sign next to a truck and a timer.

  • Comments: Figured out the 7 v 13 finishers thing. There were 13 athenas total, 7 in my age group. 52 athenas and clydes together. W/in that 7 athena age group I was 3rd for the whole race. 9th out of all 13 athenas for the whole race, and 44 out of the 52 athenas and clydes for the whole race.

  • Comments: This is a good race and I did enjoy it. Once the roads are repaired and the barnacles are cleaned a bit better it will be a great race. Huge thanks to the Sailors on the base! Awesome job looking after us out there.

  • Comments: No vegetarian option at the lunch picnic; chips and salsa and trail mix only. well-organized. Volunteers and Navy personel on the course made navigating easy and were very encouraging.

  • Comments: This is a really good race, really good post race party (food sucks but I hate BBQ), lots of beer. I really wanted to at least come in top 3 A/G, if not win my A/G, and take 5 minutes off my swim time. I didnt win, but considering my shin splints, I am happy. I guess my only disapointment is in my bike split- I should have hammered it. Oh well, next year!

  • Comments: This was the first triathlon I every did back in 2004 and it's local. It's actually pretty popular despite not really being a great course. The roads for the bike are pretty beat up and the run is out ion the open with no scenery. Still, it's a fun local event and the post-race party has plenty of good food and beer at Breezy Point Park. It's a great opportunity to do a little racing and enjoy the day with friends so I gave it a 4 overall.

  • Comments: This race had a 3x longer swim than my first, and about 2 mi longer bike. Coupled with the warmer temperatures I was not adequately prepared, which showed when I reached the run. Nevertheless it was a good time and I learned some more about what it takes to get through one of these events. Well organized with ample water and snacks.

  • Comments: Breezy Point sprint triathlon turned into a 5K run - 20K bike - 100m dash due to the tropical storm blowing through. I didn't see any good reason to go out on the bike and risk taking a fall in the driving rain and 20-30mph winds so I lined up with my starting wave, ran a pretty hard 5K, and called it a day. Too bad the weather was so nasty. This is a popular local race with a fun party (beer & BBQ) after. I was looking forward to it because this happens to be the first triathlon I ever did back 4 years ago. Typically a good race but the weather killed it today.

  • Comments: This was a well organized event. It was really unfortunate that the weather stank. It didn't really affect the challenge of the race (everybody dealt with the same weather), but it forced them to cut out the swim. I also think a lot of people didn't race...slackers...too good for a little rain are ya?...regardless, I had a good time. It was a good shakeout for my packing plan and race prep. Now we can do it again next weekend! The awards party was great! Free BBQ (really good BBQ)...Free beer (they had my 2 favorite kinds, "COLD" and "FREE"!!! And free pizza from Pizza Hut Bottom line, despite the sucky weather, I enjoyed the race, got a good challenge, and enjoyed myself.
