Swim
Comments: I was 275/293 today. However, goal 1 was met. I did not panic. I just took my sweet time and swam. No backstroke, no sidestroke, just an occasional breast stroke when I needed to sight and take a quick break. That's why I consider today a good swim. Progress was made!! What would you do differently?: It's obvious that I should consider swimming with a masters group. I may consider that in the very near future if I stand any hope for improvement. Or at least a coach. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Practice, practice, practice Bike
Comments: I probably mashed it a bit hard. I definitely was "red-lining" the whole bike portion. I felt good though, so I just went with it. What would you do differently?: I just needed more time in the saddle. I think that I have huge room for growth on the bike. I think I may ask for a power meter for my birthday! Transition 2
Comments: I fumbled on this one a bit. Not sure why. What would you do differently?: Practice! Run
Comments: I was really suprised at my time. I thought (and felt) like I was much slower. I'm pleasantly suprised. What would you do differently?: More bricks!! Pace better on the bike? Post race
Warm down: None. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm only in my second season and I have so much room for growth. Today, I'm happy with my performance for where I am in my training. My goals were simple, no panic on the swim, and improve my T1 time. Both goals were met! :) Event comments: I really liked this race. Not a huge amount of people, ~300 or so. No kids. That was nice. Nice venue. I would like to do this race again. Last updated: 2009-03-02 12:00 AM

Up at 4am, had oatmeal with berries, coffee. Drove 80 mins to race site. Got there 1.5 hours early
First time ever, I did a warm-up in the lake. I'm really trying hard to alleviate any swim panic that I have routinely gotten at previous tris. Warm-up involved swimming maybe 150 yds or so.. enough that I felt my breath resume it's normal cadence that I have in training.
