Swim
Comments: Large wave so the spreading process was longer than usual. When we converged with the olympic waves, there was some contact that slowed me down What would you do differently?: Average swim for me Transition 1
Comments: I didn't care about the T times so I took my time and that's why it's long. Bike
Comments: Tried to hold back some here, I usually average 20-21 mph in races but this was my first HIM so I didn't want to go all out and be dead for the run. This was a comfortable ride. What would you do differently?: Now I know what a half is all about! Transition 2
Comments: Again, didn't care about time. Although I started running out, almost to the mat and realized I didn't bring my gels. Oops!! Ran back and got them. Run
Comments: I did stop and walk 6 times or so- didn't want to kill my legs trying to run up a huge hill! I'm proud of the time- first year distance running for me so this was good! Post race
Warm down: Water, stretched, and ate lunch with Mom. My friends (2 did the sprint and 2 were visiting) stayed and watched me finish! They were the "college" (we are all graduated now) kids right before the turn to start the base of the hill. They had Old style waiting for me at the finish! Event comments: I think the HIM bike course was better marked than last year. The T area is still a mess though. 1/2 AG 9/31 FEMALE 58/128 OVERALL Last updated: 2009-03-08 12:00 AM
