Swim
Comments: more aqua jog then swim. Heavy waves beat you up and threw you into others. It was kinda fun. Came out of the water way past the exit. Made for a long run up the beach. I think I was out of the water in 5:30 but took over 2 minutes to get to the timing mat. Transition 1
Comments: Came out way past the exit so had a long run on the beach. Transition was slow but efficient. Had to take off wetsuit and adjust timing chips. Bike
Comments: home course so i knew what the wind would be. Over 25 most of the way out. I passed 80 bikes on the way out, got passed by 3. Made the turn and 25mph turned to 15. I stayed aero and kept pushing. Passed another 61 bikes, 1 passed me. I had a good ride. Transition 2
Comments: smooth, no issues Run
Comments: I knew going in I had no run. Ankle seems to be shot but I loved this race and figured I could tough it out. Thats what I did. I ran this course 12 minutes faster last year but I think my running faster days are mostly behind me. No complaints, kept a steady pace. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: my right ankle Event comments: I can't believe we got to swim. It was really too rough, but they altered the course to make it somewhat safe? We got bounced and slammed around but it was fun. Bike was toughest ever on this course. Great volunteers and post race party. Oh, we had timing chips for the first time at this race. They were disposable and seemed to work good, really cool. Saw and played with lots of friends. Had too much too drink. Last updated: 2009-03-10 12:00 AM

15 minute drive from the house. Love racing on the home course. Went and lookd at the water. No way we are gonna swim I'm thinking. Wrong. Put on the wetsuit about and headed to beach. Double red flags.
