Run
Comments: Wow this was painful. Overall time is respectable. Qualified for Boston which was the main goal. But at mile 20 I was at a 2:27 - which should have put me at a sub 3:15. Obviously that did not happen. Got so queasy and ended up run/walking the last 6.2. 3 of which was in the wind ..ugh What would you do differently?: I really do not know what happened. I have struggled in all my training with hydration and nutrition. I had only about 1 1/2 gels and maybe 16 oz of water if even that. I am thinking I might try sports beans and see if those are easier for me to get down. Post race
Warm down: Shiver!!! Actually went to the med tent after I crossed. The guy who caught me at the end and walked with me asked me how I was doing and then thought going to the med tent might be a good idea. No IV but did get some water and a warm blanky. Tried to eat and drink some but not too succesful. Ate 1 cookie and that was about it. Husband made me drink water which was good for me but irritated me at the same time :) . Lucky for him I was in no mood to argue. But....DONKEY PARTY after. That rocked! What limited your ability to perform faster: Hydration and nutrition I think. I had 2 20 mile training runs and had issues at the end of those as well. Event comments: Serious gaps in the aid stations. I think there were a couple times where there was a 2 mile gap.
