Run
Comments: Started out at a decent starting pace. Calves were a little tight but nothing too bad. I hit the first mile at 6:39 which I felt was good but not too fast for the first mile. Shortly after I began to notice people passing me occasionally which should not have been happenin if I was going to run a sub 40. I hit mile 2 at 7 flat and new it was not gonna be a good day. With each mile I tried to push and was unable to get below the 7 min/mile barrier. After I hit my split at mile 4 I knew that even a sub 42 was not in the cards so I just tried to maintain and pass the people in my immediate reach. 1 - 6:39 2 - 6:56 3 - 7:01 4 - 7:04 5 - 7:01 6 - 6:55 .2 - 1:20 What would you do differently?: Pushed a little harder thru mile 2 and 3. If my time at mile 3 would have been closer to goal and I might have been able to maintain pace and will myself through the end. Post race
Event comments: Needless to say I was dissapointed in my performance today. I could say I've been training for longer distances and it wasn't long enough to catch my stride, but I know that's not true. Last year leading up to my BQ I ran this race 3 minutes faster. For now I'll chalk it up to a bad day but getting close to the 3 hr mark in Boston seems unreasonable at this point. Last updated: 2009-03-16 12:00 AM

Running a little late this morning and didn;t get the chance to warm up as mush as I would have liked. Ran for about 5-10 minutes.
